Rob,

Are you still able to build Castleblock houses for about $130/sf , or have prices changed?

We're thinking:

1000 sf (including living space and outside lanai space) = $130,000
Septic tank, well or catchment system: perhaps $20,000
Lot clearing, leveling, driveway, house site prep: $10,000

Total: about $160,000.

Is this in the ballpark? We would want nice internal touches, such as stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.

The word is cementitious. Does anyone out there use spell check? Anything made of cement, from plaster, to prefab panels (the exterior parts of Protec), to Rastra/Castelblock (relatively heavy fireproof ICF using encapsulated lightweight insulating foam as the aggregate). Protec would be a lightweight wall that could be part of a raised foundation system. Any ICF system would be impractical to float in the air unless it was engineered with arches and other
trick structural approaches.
