RE: RE: Castle Block Products - hpp4me - 03-14-2009 Rob, Are you still able to build Castleblock houses for about $130/sf , or have prices changed? We're thinking: 1000 sf (including living space and outside lanai space) = $130,000 Septic tank, well or catchment system: perhaps $20,000 Lot clearing, leveling, driveway, house site prep: $10,000 Total: about $160,000. Is this in the ballpark? We would want nice internal touches, such as stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. RE: RE: Castle Block Products - john the architect - 03-12-2010 The word is cementitious. Does anyone out there use spell check? Anything made of cement, from plaster, to prefab panels (the exterior parts of Protec), to Rastra/Castelblock (relatively heavy fireproof ICF using encapsulated lightweight insulating foam as the aggregate). Protec would be a lightweight wall that could be part of a raised foundation system. Any ICF system would be impractical to float in the air unless it was engineered with arches and other trick structural approaches. |
