Rob, can you do that dance of yours every few days? Personally, I think it would be great if you could make it rain between midnight and 6 am every other day please.

Devany - sorry, have to ask, but what are you using to measure your rainfall? 3-inches seems a bit much if you don't mind me saying.

She bases that on what she was told 6 inches looks like.

I have a regular rain gauge. We had constant hard rain from 11 pm till dawn that night, so much so fast that water was flowing over the sides of all of our gutters for a couple of hours.

OINK! That was typically hillarious. You have a great sense of humor and you are quick on the draw too. [Big Grin]

Here is a link to 24-hour rainfall totals recorded by automated rain gauges scattered about the island:

Devany - still a little surprised by the amount of rain, but I know only too well that the weather here can get a little "local"! Three dead palm trees, two ohias blasted into non-existence and a vaporised phone line all during a twenty-minute storm a few years ago. I will never forget that night! No one else had any problems but a friend of mine living on 32nd St HPP looked out that night and said "someone is getting it on Kaloli!".

ArtM - I actually checked that site but the one you posted is 24-hrs after the rain. The one I saw had an inch of rain in Mountain View or close by and was the highest rainfall I saw, which is why I had a hard time believing 3-inches of rain fell.

I still do but there are more important things to worry about!

Yes, local is the key word. My neighbor down the road only got 1.75 inches the same night. And the map was more than 24 hours after the rain. Since then it has been dry until just now... a nice light rain is falling I doubt that it will mean much in the gauge, but it sounds nice.
