RE: Uses for a Giant Antenna - Carey - 12-27-2009 On to the irrelevant on thing to do with the antennae: 1. Solar clothes dryer (should be able to get a tax rebate...) 2. Put a canvas cover on it for a patio umbrella 3. put a blue plastic tarp for a car port 4. decorate it for the holidays - metal tree! 5. hang bird treats for a giant bird perch 6. launch fireworks (early this year) from it 7. light it up & apply for lighthouse designation I wonder if the old floor adhesive I am ripping out is having any adverse effects..... RE: Uses for a Giant Antenna - Kelena - 12-28-2009 I really like the lighthouse idea! Although my neighbors may not. It does seem like I could put a nice light on the very top and, on dark and stormy nights, light it up...and maybe blink it when cruise ships go by. The other ideas actually require accessing it (clothes dryer, etc). I have decided I am going to check to see if it works to receive television! RE: Uses for a Giant Antenna - Carey - 12-28-2009 Glen, used to have a neighbor that decorated his very tall pine with a bow & tethered arrow shooting a line up to get the lights up.... also one of hubbys friends used a wrist rocket (super sling shot) to launch cabled saws to trim tree branches... seems clothes & tarps & bird treats & ornaments could be launched in simila fashion.... course you may be able to get some of those HIccup Circus folks to walk up the guy wires... with the greatest of ease! I gotta go back to the gunk on the floors, but I think I will ponder this some more (seems like something better than TV can be done with this!) |
