RE: Candidate for District 5 Council - gtill - 12-01-2009 Thank you for the consideration Rob. I'm a believer in history repeating itself! Which explains the claim of 15.00 hr in James's call for labor(w/o bennies)most of us were paying 25$hr under the table but he gets 15$ with state blessing (go figure), and that was in a much better economy! Then your final convincing of Emily to kill the trash burner (those were her words at your convincing, but she listened)! This is what I meant, however it now relates directly to our confrontation with closed dumps, pay to dump etc, and shortly with fines for missing a can in the bag(like in SF). Your proposed tree farm is an up and coming "Huge Corporation", and any input from the good doctor should be viewed as a business incursion into government! He labeled Ormat as an an "outside interest" and a greedy corp, while proposing widespread use of his oil (while banning cheaper foreign imports), and keeping Ormat (our only uninterupted alternate source) from expanding only benefits Helco, and eventually him! Another good reason involves fronts! He came on like farmer John with a PHD in ag, letting his knowledge flow free. Till he admitted he didn't know what a african snail was, and slowly he drops his shingle to Ag Economics! Which is the bountiful giving of state owned knowlwdge materials and even down to the very raising of his keike palms. Just know the right arms to twist and the best givers of public funds from your cronies and get rich at the taxpayers expense! Hwy 130 is another boondoggle, all the time trying to sell a new intersection type to a way too busy and fast highway, further delaying it so now the funding could be available and we're not ready! Another one was his badmouthing of a private business and refusing to elaborate, not good! I hope this somewhat clears my previous post, thanks Rob! RE: Candidate for District 5 Council - Rob Tucker - 12-01-2009 Gtill, I will leave James to make his own responses to your points as he chooses. I appreciate civility and think it will contribute to our upcoming election more than acrimony will. So to all I will regularly be reminding: Assume the best and ask questions. Punaweb moderator RE: Candidate for District 5 Council - james weatherford - 12-02-2009 gtill, Your post is full of untruths and you do it without using your name. I really don't know what you are talking about with the "$15.00 hr". I did hire a few people to work a few hours of casual labor in my garden for $12/hr when the prevailing pay for that type of work was $10/hr. As for "convincing of Emily to kill the trash burner." Yes, I tried to convince every Council member to vote no on this dirty, expensive deception. The County would now have an additional $125 million debt otherwise. I am very glad the incinerator was defeated, else the County's financial situation would have been even worse than it is. About "...proposed tree farm is an up and coming "Huge Corporation", Whose tree farm? If you mean mine, it is only a family farm. Who is "Ormat"? Please cite exactly where I called them, by name, anything. Nowhere have I proposed "banning cheaper foreign imports" If you accuse me of getting public money for anything, you need to have specifics. Where are they?
