RE: Where to buy water? - csgray - 01-11-2010 I delegated finding a water source to my husband because I went back to work today and had prep work to do all weekend. I hope he found some because my parents arrive on Friday and I sure don't want to be flushing toilets with a bucket. The frustrating thing is that the house next door is empty and has a full catchment tank! Aside from the ethics of diverting that water to our place, I have no way to get it from their tank uphill to our tank. Carol RE: Where to buy water? - csgray - 01-11-2010 Water coming on Wednesday! $130 for 4000 gallons. Now it will probably rain! Carol RE: Where to buy water? - asly - 01-11-2010 Yeah, I'm sure once folks buy water, the rains will come :-) Always seems to work out like that. Thanks Carol for the current pricing. Did they put you on a waiting list at all or were they able to get you in quickly? Enjoy the day! Ann Back to blogging at http://crazypineappledream.blogspot.com RE: Where to buy water? - TomK - 01-11-2010 Just to add - if it rains beforehand you can always cancel the delivery. I had to do that once and felt very bad for the company (I forget which one) but they were very good about it. In fact they called me first asking if I still needed water. I suspect they were worried about meeting the demand at the time and welcomed a couple of cancellations. Not all companies are the same, but if it rains and you no longer need the water, call them before they head out to your place. Tom RE: Where to buy water? - force - 01-11-2010 Started raining this afternoon in hilo, and now i'm getting some rain in fern acres. Good times. Matt RE: Where to buy water? - mdd7000 - 01-11-2010 $130 for 4000 gallons sounds reasonable. Consider that the company has to pay for a truck, fuel, insurance, hoses, pumps, employee... and make a profit. RE: Where to buy water? - Devany - 01-12-2010 Carol looks like the rain came in the nick of time! It is raining really hard here and has been since 3 am.
