Here's an issue for you Loren. The big box companies brought so many non-native plants in that the "overworked" ag inspectors didn't stop this invasive species. What about a county surcharge of two dollars for each imported plant brought onto the Island. It goes into a fund to irradiate coqui eggs making the male s sterile. then coquii (?) from those eggs will be released and produce no offspring. This has been done before in other circumstances, and there is probably some sort of mathmatical formula for how many would need to be released.
Either that, or someone needs to come up with a coqui cookbook.

I love my little coqui's they sing me to sleep every night. Haven't been sleeping very well when they are sleeping.

Despite the lack of coquis lately I'm still out there every night hunting them down. The ones who are able to sing despite the cold and the dryness, they're the ones you especially want to get before they pass on those genes.
If you have any piles of dead vegetation, now would be a good time to take it to the dump. They'll all be hiding there.
