YAY to Greek, Mediterranean or Middle Eastern. I had all on my trip to CA, Falafel, Gyros, Souvlaki, Dolma & Baklava. I'll check out the ad.

Best Falafel Ever - Puka Puka Kitchen on Bayfront. I've had falafel all over the world. This is seriously good falafel. Not as great a deal asthe $3 falafels in NY, but tastier.

Went to Full Moon Cafe tonight... Our party ordered from both the American menu (burgers, pasta, salads, etc) and from the Thai menu.

The renovation is VERY NICE... the attention to detail was very noticeable, from the beautiful tile work, the woodwork, the interesting mobile dividers that make either large group seatings or intimate dining spaces, to some of the cleanest restrooms in Hilo.

The waitstaff was attentive, which is worth noting in Hilo.

They had live entertainment, but it did seem slightly out-of place, as the music was celtic-irish on amped lap dulcimer & bowed psaltery (and a bit over amped... one of the things we find is all too common here... making 'what did you say?' more common than need be at dinner)

The burger was rated a 7 out of 10, but there were no condiments. The scallop Masuman curry & Pineapple fried rice were both done with nice seasoning interplay, but on a more mild scale than we are used to... they did have pepper sauce on the table so that was not a big deal.

The cook has experience at some of the other Hilo Thai spots, so these dishes were familiar in flavor, with some new overtones...
