However, there are some I have done business with, and if any of those say a bad thing about me than I will fold my cards. Until then, for the rest, STFU![][][] Aloha, John S. There's a tiny beach next to it now though, but for how long, who knows. RE: A piece of paradise? - EightFingers - 08-19-2010 I've got my eye on some lots in Lo'ihi Seaview Estates. I'll make a killing in about 300,000 years! RE: A piece of paradise? - oink - 08-19-2010 That property description does leave something to be desired. The original link leads one to believe it's a Hilo Brokers listing. It is not. It is an Island Trust listing: http://www.alohaliving.com/RealEstate/Property/ViewDetails.asp/State/HI/County/Hawaii/City/Pahoa/propertyid/3260982?searchType=Criteria&page=1 Not all Realtor boards are equal, and an agent being a Realtor is no guarantee of honesty. I do firmly believe that dealing with a Realtor as opposed to just a licensed agent does increase your chances of dealing with an honest, above the board person. John obviously has had some unpleasant experiences (details unknown) that have left him with strong prejudice and bias toward Realtors. Sad! Edit: I actually would kind of like a couple of those lots side by side for a camp spot, but not for 10k. Maybe the pair for 5k total. Pua`a S. FL Big Islander to be. I am still scratching my head at the (apparently widely held) idea that it is somehow a good thing for brokerages not to identify the listing agency on their website's property detail pages when the listing is with an outside broker. One of the things I've always appreciated about the clarkhawaii.com website is that it does clearly say what brokerage has the listing. I've discussed this with my broker and doing so was a deliberate decision because our management believes it is the most ethical approach to take. Cynthia Hoskins R(S) Clark Realty Corporation www.clarkhawaii.com RE: A piece of paradise? - missydog1 - 08-19-2010 I agree, Cynthia. I like the Hilo Brokers site for all the different search criteria and the saved searches and updates. i have not looked at all the sites. At HB, a "featured" listing is one of theirs, and all the rest are not. I wish they would identify the listing brokerage. I am a big fan of Clark Realty, btw.
