The average time between new leaves? That's funny, I've never really noticed. But, it seems to me that 1 leaf is still curled up while another is already coming out. We have to cut about 6 sets of 4 leaves per year. Ok, sorry, that's about once about every 6 weeks per leaf. Everyone probably already knows, but with palms it's better you don't let the weedwacker touch them AT ALL. Just a tiny cut can take alot of energy from the plant to heal, taking away from it's growth time.

Mailesomaha,
Thanks for the info. The ones we bought from Jerry will be randomly placed throughout the entry yard away from the Hala. We’ll get the pinnate of red here and there within an approximate area of 150' by 150'.
In our situation, with the majority, we won’t need to use weed trimmers around the base of the palms as those ground areas are cinder/rock based and will be sprayed to treat weeds.
I’ve seen some landscapes use short lengths of split irrigation pipe to shield the base of plants from weed trimmers. Like a 3”+ length of 6”/etc diameter plastic irrigation pipe split on one side so they can be stretched open and loosely clipped around the base of the trunk (just an example).
~Again… many thanks.

Thanks for the link William.
This looks like the place next door to a VRBO in Leilani we stayed in a couple years back during a 2 week visit.
We're after some tall/large shade making palms next.
