RE: Mold smell - Markie - 02-19-2011 Regarding plants close to the house, if they are tall and next to the roof, rats can run up them, pee on the roof, and that gets into your catchment system. If you don't put enough bleach in the tank, you can get leptosporosis. Markie RE: Mold smell - Funkstopper - 02-19-2011 There is a reason my screen name in Funkstopper. I have commercial high power ozone generator that does pretty well with mildew odors. The health hazard is an issue. You shouldn't be exposed to ozone long term. My machines are meant to do a concentrated blast when no one is around. The other alternative is to rent a fogging machine at Home Depot. I prefer the Ozone as there are no chemicals involved and the ozone converts back to oxygen fairly quickly. Jim 756-6000 RE: Mold smell - ericlp - 02-19-2011 HMMM Nothing like bleach. Tho, Mold needs water. Maybe you got some sort of water source in the wall? Drip drip drip. Good Luck with that! RE: Mold smell - macuu222 - 02-20-2011 Clorox bleach works for me also. Use the industrial strength though instead of the general purpose stuff that you find at walmart. And also check first to make sure your not taking the paint off RE: Mold smell - Kapohocat - 02-20-2011 Can u see the mold? Maybe you have a leak at a fixture is or a leaky seal under the potty. RE: Mold smell - DTisme - 02-20-2011 I wouldn't worry about small plants around perimeter of house, just tall ones that get to window or roof height. RE: Mold smell - hotinhawaii - 02-21-2011 There is a product at Home Depot that you spray on interior surfaces to prevent mold growth. I think it is some simple ingredient like sodium bicarbonate or something like that. You could also rent a fogger at Home Depot that also deposits some thin film of something like baking soda on every surface in a room. I don't believe it turns everything white |
