If you go to Cellular Enhancements (next to KTA @ Puainakao), they have a loaner card for Mobi. You can borrow it for 24 hours to test your area to see how it works. If you like it, then you can get Mobi service there at the store. There's also a Mobi store in Prince Kuhio mall, and another place that sells Mobi next door to Domino's off Kilauea. But like I said, we tried it in the past and weren't happy with it at all, so be sure to try it first and if you don't like it, be sure to get it back w/in the seven days. The other junk thing about Mobi is that they make you buy the hardware and they won't take it back after the seven days (hence the reason I got stuck w/ the $200 mifi box I couldn't use). I hear they've stepped it up though, so we'll see!

I've had Hughes for close to a year now. It's far from perfect but compared to dial-up or Coconut Wireless it's a dream. I've had to call the guys in Mumbai a couple of times with tech questions. They were actually very helpful and they are the only outsourced tech guys that I have ever dealt with that actually have a sense of humor and are even chatty. I had one guy that was curious about life outside his world. He was really intrigued that I could afford to own my own land and grow vegetables. After imagining his life in a cubicle in a grossly congested city it made my connectivity issues seem rather petty.

I have the cheapest package and it only allows 200mb per day download. After 9pm (8pm during daylight savings) it's unlimited and much faster.
