My most recent experience with Jeff Meek is that he sends just about anybody but himself out to do the work and the quality control is seriously lacking. For example, hot and cold lines mixed up throughout the house, joists drilled inappropriately (too big a hole near the bottoms of the joist, and when I asked him about it, he claimed to not know what the codes were about this!), etc.

Edit: On this same job, there was a problem with the pump (nobody's fault) a few weeks later on New Years Day and Jeff got to the bottom of it and replaced it and some of the plumbing very reasonably and quickly. I don't think other plumbers would have done that.

Ironic that you can hire licensed idiots, but are presumably "not smart enough" to do your own plumbing/electrical work.

While I agree with you 100% Kalakoa, just to play devils advocate, I'm sure the endless additions and changes to "codes, rules, and regulations" are probably difficult to keep up with, eh?

Cheers

Keeping up with "requirements" can easily become a full-time job... especially when some of these requirements are either undocumented or subject to "local interpretation".

My favorite example: in some municipalities, any grounding screws in your electrical system must be green, unless installed by a union electrician. NEC doesn't specify a color; it's a "local rule" designed to guarantee employment for "some people".

...and the amount of "grandfathered" stuff around here is just incredible.

I am an investor that builds houses for a living. I have used Jeff Meek several times. I did have a small leak on one house. I called him and he was at my house within an hour. I have used 3 other plumbers in the past; it took them a week to fix a leak or other problems. Plumbers make mistakes (that's common in the industry), the difference is he fixes his mistakes promptly.

Jeff has plumbed some of the houses that i have framed. The customers where all satisfied.
