Whether drug related or not, this is not a crime of passion. This person was executed in a fairly familiar style. He was killed to prove a point. What that point is, is speculation.

That was my thought, jackson. Men kill women by strangulation, not the reverse. That's why this particular crime shocked me; it sounds like an execution style killing that is very different from the typical Big Island murder with guns, knives, or blunt force. It makes me wonder if some crime syndicate is at work. Merely speculation, and I apologize if it is in bad taste. My distress for the victim is quite sincere, even though I didn't know him. But it is also natural to be alarmed by this type of crime going on.

No one made any suggestion that a woman committed this crime.

Just a lil more insight here. Just a couple weeks prior to his murder his house and vehicle was torched. He was ex special forces some say that the gunshot to the head didnt kill him that's why they strangled him. It's scary to think that people were home and less than a hundred yards away when this took place.

setting my soul free....

Tonight police have have a road block stopping everyone asking if anyone knows anything and handing out pamphlets. One way to find out who all lives in Eden rock but then you have a large number people who don't drive. Amazing the neighbor who found him didn't hear anything right next door.

setting my soul free....

When I first moved to Eden Roc, the neighborhood gossip chick told me about all the fires that had taken place in the subdivision. Scary. She said it is a well known way of people enacting revenge and I'd better be careful who I made friends/enemies with. She told me this "story" outside of the volunteer fire station just after the monthly Board of Directors meeting of the Association.

I called the fire department and they had records going back a long time, I don't remember how many years, maybe 30, but a long time.

They sent me the report; There had been, in the 30 of so years of reporting, 1 small garage fire and 1 burnt down abandoned shack.

I'd wager my new puppy that it's the same chick that was interviewed by the Herald in their story. "There's alot of theft....cops don't care....people shooting pigs on their own property...we hear'em constantly." GIVE ME A BREAK. The Herald must have looked for the most scuzzy looking female they could find, who was probably riding her bike, talking to herself, to be able to sensationalize this story.

I'm going to get a police blotter for Eden Roc if I can and report the truth back here. Pffffffff

That lot has been for sale for about 4 years now; it has not just recently gone up for sale.

The owner of the lot does not live next door.

It was suggested that the "womanizing" mentioned by his friend in the tribune report was the back story. But people are stuck on a drug connection, probably the police too, sad really.

Yeah, it was for sale here a year ago, but the sign has been down a long time. So is the price, now. I understand the sister of the man who found the body owns the property. It would need to be run through her. I think the brother just wants to move on with his life. Can't say I blame him.

Peace and long life

any ideal how much it is for sale, i like the Eden Roc area. I couldnt find it anywhere. peace

Rusty, I heard $30K is his current asking. I don't know where this guy is staying. It has a container home on it, and some landscaping. If that's in your ballpark maybe I could ask around for the guys number. If you want a quick preview, its on the left hand side of the lower road. Still has crime scene tape on it.

Peace and long life
