I'm pretty old to be accused of being a new intellect but I would never do that because I'm not going to their silly meeting.
Why would my yelling at Patricia be and different than what she does. She starts yelling from the back of the room and the meeting has to stop until she walks to the front and takes the mic.

mermaid

They had a paid recording secretary at those meetings who wrote the minutes, a paid professional not a member of HPPOA.
At least they had one until she quit in tears near midnight at one meeting.

It took awhile to find another recording secretary.

Aloha Mr. O,

Again, this is not about you or your intellect. This is about some on the HPPOA board and their supporters disseminating FALSE information.

I suggest you and they correct your "information" and find a reliable source which can "clarify" for you (say what you want them to say). Because the statement from the one to whom you are all referring (you as in, you, the board supporters, and some on the board) does not corroborate your story.

[attachment=332]

BTW, Mr. O. if you watched/came to the meetings, you would know that I sit IN FRONT.

The meeting minutes you, some on the board, and their supporters are going on about, are from a 2016 Mailbox Committee meeting- an Owner/member committee that the board at that time would not even recognize.

So, what you are all posting was not even verified with the board and the minutes were not taken by the board's hired secretary. Guess that might be why the information provided in those minutes is a little confused.

RE: *This Post Is About HPP* Waikahekahe, WATUMULL'S, Owners/Members Meeting 10/27/2024 - Obie - 11-06-2024

It's time to re-name this thread. HPP BIZ: Part the third is kind of old ,so could you name it HPP BIZ: Part the fourth ?

It will keep everything together in an orderly fashion so I can research it.

Everyone else will know to avoid it .

On the other hand, if you insist on posting about HPP, please keep it to one or two threads that are clearly HPP topics. If you post a thread entitled "HISTORY AS PROMISED," people will go there to understand what it's about and see that it's yet another HPP thread. This does you no favors other than making others think you're seeking attention.

Apologies, I was just posting info about the Owners/Members meeting.  As apparently  did Obie . I posted a copy of the agenda (as did Obie later) and the title page to a 308 page archaeological study, which I thought others might find interesting. I did not feel this information belonged under "History," as the meeting is not until tomorrow (Sunday, October 27, 2024).
The Watamull info was shared with me later in the day. I shared it when I was notified.
I have no intention of posting anything new, anytime soon.

could you name it HPP BIZ: Part the fourth ?

More accurately, "A Discourse On Not Paving The Roads".

Aloha Mr. O,

I am not understanding what you are referring to or why you are referring to an older reply from TomK. Unless, you are noting that this post has morphed well past just the occurrence of the HPPOA owner/member meeting.

Still, I feel the title is relevant. What was pushed on Owners/members at their meeting (rushing through bylaw amendments) should still be addressed. The board's indifference to the Cultural Preservation Site study (have you seen any discussion of it?) is still concerning. The Watumull's are obviously of importance and interest (BTW I found those minutes some of the board supporters have been waving about. The date was incorrect- the committee signed them 2016, should have been 2018. Regardless, they are still mailbox committee minutes, not BOD minutes).

If you need more order, so that you can research, please let me know. I am always happy to help.

Yeah, mermaid was the vice president of HPPOA and there was no paving for at least a year.

Right now we have been gifted 3 million dollars worth of mailboxes.
About half of them have been installed in the 2 lower mail-parks.
Volunteers are meeting at each park and spending some time doing landscaping.

What would you do ??

Aloha Mr. O,

Why are you fixating on Mermaid?

And when did one million in "gifted mailboxes" become three million?

Still, placing all those "gifted" mailboxes on restricted land, and then blaming others because you did not properly "play out" the correct process in court... Well, that sounds like a mess and a breach of Fiduciary Duty to me.

First, I’d get on the same page. According to June, 2024 “The Conch” the official newsletter of HPP, the US Postal Service has put up 2 million in “hardware” (mail boxes) and 500K in cash for related installation. Further, HPPOA has put up a little over 500K in cash costs.

So – A little over 3 million IN TOTAL. USPS at 2.5 million, HPPOA at 500K.

Bantering around dollar figures with 2-million-dollar differences and varied sources serves no purpose whatsoever.

The Conch June 2024

As for what I would specifically do?

More like I would have done. A decade plus ago when all this started. I would have suggested the Board get HPPOA to acquire 4 strategically positioned 1 acre lots throughout HPPOA as owned assets of HPPOA. Cleared and improved them and then negotiated with the USPS for the boxes and installation help on each of those 4 separate lots.

But at this point, it’s trying to put toothpaste back into the tube. And if this lawsuit ends against HPPOA, any and all costs for legal expenses as well as damages will pale in comparison to HPPOA’s debt to the USPS for the original 2.5 million.

Aloha HiloJulie,

The Conch may state 2 million. But our fearless leader (president) and several other BOD stated 1 million when all of this mess started (back at the close of 2022- yes, that long). Also, if you look at the costs for prepping the sites, etc. Well... those figures aren't the same either.

And yes, maybe HPPOA should have bought acreage. But then, maybe the USPS should have stepped up too and come up with workable alternatives.

I appreciate you input. Wink

Also, owners/members have never been told that the USPS invested any amounts in cash ($500K ?  Where?)

Obie:  "They had a paid recording secretary at those meetings who wrote the minutes, a paid professional not a member of HPPOA.  At least they had one until she quit in tears near midnight at one meeting.

It took awhile to find another recording secretary."

Of course that is the requirements to be a RS in HPPOA (not a HPP property owner) bc of the possible conflict of interests.  But then that doesn't necessarily mean the RS won't do the board's bidding bc not all are professionals.  Your friend's jaw dropped at the RS's behavior....it wasn't the first time or the 2nd or the 3rd time this behavior was displayed at open board mtgs. A recording secretary *was found*, contract ready to be signed, just in time for the Feb 2019 membership meeting, but the majority board axed that bc they didn't want the mtg to happen bc the forensic analyst was scheduled to speak to the membership at that mtg.

Obie:  "Yeah, mermaid was the vice president of HPPOA and there was no paving for at least a year."

Go read the meeting minutes.  Your info is inaccurate about the VP position.  I had no say about the paving.

Obie:  "Right now we have been gifted 3 million dollars worth of mailboxes.
About half of them have been installed in the 2 lower mail-parks.
Volunteers are meeting at each park and spending some time doing landscaping."

Your info is inaccurate about the $3 mill.  Let's discuss they're not being enough parcel boxes for over 2000 ppl at each mailbox site.  16 installed right now at 4th for 2016 ppl.  The HPP mail will be sorted out of the Hilo Airport USPS office per the board president.  Will that mean we also have to go to Hilo to pick up the parcels that can't be delivered at the 4 mailbox sites?

The "Beautification Committee" volunteers are asked to sign a waiver in case they're injured or ?,  bc it appears HPPOA insurance doesn't cover them like the board and committee thought before they formed the committee?  Cart before the horse is a common pattern with this board in their decision making.

Obie, stop spreading disinformation.

I asked you why you have supported all HPP majority boards since 2014, way before you bought property in HPP?
