RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - glinda - 07-18-2019 You know HOTPE, I got a chuckle out of that.. thanks. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - ironyak - 07-18-2019 @TomK - "much more serious" doesn't have a definition and almost anything qualifies when compared to driving around extra slow. Not sure if you're reading into, or trying to ferret out, that statement, but seems a fruitless endeavor. It's primarily in Ige's hands now to reap what they've sown. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - TomK - 07-18-2019 "It's primarily in Ige's hands now to reap what they've sown." I can agree with that. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - Amrita - 07-18-2019 A FB & Instagram post protesting TMT reads as follows; "(know the truth, so you can understand the fight) " Does anyone know why or what the real issues are that the Hawaiians have with the construction on Mauna Kea? Well what if you knew that the reason why they want to build the telescope there is because under that mountain there is the hugest water duct on the island, it is so huge it could provide fresh water to the whole island for hundreds of years, well in order to run those telescopes they need to be cooled because of the nuclear power it runs on so they're going to drill down to the water and send down the nuclear waste into the water to cool it off then send it back upo to the telescope to keep it running. Now imaging all that fresh ice cold water that we have just sitting there for us and instead of allowing us access to free freshwater for life they want to pump nuclear waste into just so they can look into a machine that can see across the universe! And polluting our islands lands and water. So just because you and I aren't up there in that mountain protesting with our families it doesn't mean you shouldn't know the truth about why their fighting... RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - rainyjim - 07-18-2019 It’s true. After we pump the nuclear waste into the telescope half of it is used to power the lasers and the other half goes into 55 gallon drums (recycled from the cane factories). The 55 gallon drums are then stored inside the closed down observatories (that’s why they are sealed shut and you can’t tour them). I guess it’s over now, they figured out our secret. RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - Seeb - 07-19-2019 It’s the reflection from the tin foil hats that’s causing global warming RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - birdmove - 07-19-2019 When the violence starts, if it does, I'll be on the side of the telescope. Peaceful non road blocking protest is just ducky. Blocking roads, holding back traffic, violence, sabotaging road equipment, harassing workers is not. Jon in Keaau/HPP RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - kalakoa - 07-19-2019 State issues permits to TMT. State allows protestors to set up an illegal camp and roadblocks. Whose side is the State on? RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - geochem - 07-19-2019 quote: Easy answer: the State is not on anyone's side: it is terminally feckless and incompetent... And regarding Kahele's referendum: are we now going to have a referendum for every project undertaken in Hawaii???? I suppose it is a logical outcome if your elected leaders are completely spineless and without principle (as ours seem to be)... RE: TMT construction begins Monday 15 July - kalakoa - 07-19-2019 regarding Kahele's referendum Almost forgot. Kahele's "60 days" really gives everyone another year to litigate, because summer on the mountain is short. |
