The state reported only six new cases on Saturday, bringing the total case count to 580.
Another person has died from coronavirus in Hawaii, bringing Hawaii’s death toll to 10, according to data from the state Department of Health released Sunday.
The man who died was a visitor on Maui from Washington state, the agency said in a press release Sunday. He was between the ages of 40 and 59 and had no previous medical conditions. He had been hospitalized at Maui Memorial Medical Center for an extended time, the state said.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Hawaii is now at 580, however, the number rose only by six — up from 574 Saturday, according to the data. Fifty-two cases have required hospitalization and 414 have been released from isolation.
On Sunday, confirmed cases on Oahu rose by three to 385. Maui County now has 106, two more than Saturday. Hawaii County reported one more case, bringing its new total to 62.
The case count on Kauai has remained steady at 21.
Sunday’s reported death brings the total number of coronavirus deaths on Maui to four. The state has been investigating a cluster of cases at Maui Memorial and has isolated 45 people there, including both staff and patients. The state says the outbreak may have started when a health care worker came to work while sick.
The state also reported one more confirmed case related to a cluster among McDonald’s restaurants on Hawaii island, bringing that total to 30.
“The new case is an employee at a third McDonald’s located at 75-5729 Kuakini Hwy. That location has voluntary closed at this time. The total now includes 18 employees and 12 household members,” the state’s press release said.

It's a bit reassuring that no one has caught the virus from buying food at these locations, it's confined to employees and their families. Not that I ever buy there.

No one has been confirmed as catching the virus from these locations. An important distinction, and I believe that family's results are still pending and this cluster has been growing day by day.
Unfortunately we still have roughly 500 people coming into the islands each day and roughly 600 people travelling between islands each day.

We can only hope all of them are doing the mandatory quarantines, but this constant mixing of the population increases the chances for high infection areas to transfer new cases to low infection areas (over 50% of new cases are still being linked to Travel)

Given the lack of testing and contract tracing, we will never know.

If you had recently visited Mickey D's at the affected locations, wouldn't you want to go get a Corona test after hearing the news? I would venture that most folks in this situation would be curious or concerned enough to do so.

Better question: would the test be administered? Especially after the initial news releases which didn't identify the suspect "establishment".

The news article about this said no customers had tested positive (so far), so obviously the answer to your question is "yes".

Today’s statewide total includes 385 cases on Oahu, 110 in Maui County, 64 on Hawaii island, and 21 in Kauai County, according to health officials.
Both of the new cases today were in Maui County. Today was the second straight day that Oahu recorded no new COVID-19 cases."

I love our low numbers.. cringe when I see the daily update posted and always feel so relieved when I read that the world hasn't come to and end.
