Based on some recent county decisions & efforts, that State DofH info might also be useful to make sure everyone on the county payroll is still with us.

make sure everyone on the county payroll is still with us

It's probably cheaper to keep paying salaries for deceased County workers, less "selective enforcement" that way.

Why bother with nepotism, when necrotism provides real job security.

An update in the Trib today. In short..... the prosecutors are thinking about it.

Two District Court grand juries were empaneled last week, and this case may go to one of them, assuming the prosecutors present it. It will be interesting to see how Mitch Roth and associates deal with this. I haven't been too impressed with him so far, especially given that he billed himself as a reformer.

The strength of my candidacy was so threatening to some they needed to go sift through my voter registration history.

Reached by phone Tuesday, Edwards Hunt said, “I stand by my original statement. The strength of my candidacy was so threatening to some they needed to go sift through my voter registration history.”

Apparently, some people feel otherwise, as does the newspaper, who made it a point to put the article right at the top of their web page with a large picture of her, just to ensure everyone knows who she is. [Wink]

On a side note, this is why one should never burn bridges at their former employer, especially if it is a newspaper.

"Pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes, §19-3.5, any person who knowingly furnishes false information on an Affidavit on Application for Voter Registration may be guilty of Class C Felony, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $10,000 fine."

Seems like there is something to see here. The article says that the police investigation took so long because of the number of people wanting to give statements. TEH didn't, on the advice of her attorney. While a defense could be that a person was so confused, they didn't know where they lived or what place was being claimed for exemption, the records and timeline indicate carefully crafted fraudulent residence schemes.
