Nani Mau gardens was in the paper last month, seems it is another casualty in Ken Fujiyamas portfolio, as it is in default.

Jade plant update: Planted 6 starts last April only one survived but the little guy is 5 feet tall
doing well.
Wondering when it'll bloom?

Careful with that jade plant. Although they are beautiful, they love our climate and can get out of control.
My husband and I were looking at an ohia,1 lot away from our house, and noticed beautiful blue flowers at the top.
We realized it was from our jade and had traveled that far and crawled up the neighbors tree.
We sadly had to cut the Jade plant down.
I heard the best place to plant them is where you can clearly see the beginning and the end of the plant, so you can keep it under control.

Do you have red or blue?
My red one is blooming, crazy-gorgeous. It covered about 20 feet of chain link fence in just a couple of years.

We just planted two blue ones, not blooming yet!

I understand you can grow from cuttings of hardwood, but ground layering works better.

It's blue I believe it's from a Keike we got in Nanawle.
Since we still live off island , Mother Nature has had to baby sit often.
Hopefully he'll be safe until our next return.
Decided not to do any trimming yet as
we're planing another visit in August can't wait to see his growth.

Mahalo for all the tips on this plant! Makes magnificent leis, too. Check out the book "Ka Lei" (or Google) for instructions how to make a lei. The old hapa haole song by Milton Beamer, comes to mind..."Blue lei"[Smile]

You were wearing a blue lei
The day that I first met you,
As we walked along the sand
By the blue, blue sea.
Without a cloud in the sky to caress us,
Not a tear have you or I to suppress us.

I will always remember
The moment that I kissed you,
And the smile upon your lips that was heavenly sweet.
When your blue eyes looked in to mine,
It was then the sun began to shine,
That day in May you wore a blue lei.

They are blooming now. Lat night a friend who lives in WaaWaa gifted me a lei from the plant in her garden. Incredibly beautiful. I have seen them for sale at the zoo, and that's today!
