Vote for what you think is correct and good.
Vote third party, your vote for the R's and D's is meaningless.
Their ignoring of the needs and wishes of the American people will

Both of them are godless, if they had faith they would follow the golden rule. They are both power hungry, wealth hungry, violent, authoritarians. They essentially have matching political ideology, which is all about top down control and violence.

But when you think about it, the practice of top down control and violence more or less began when mankind started believing in something called "god!"

Well not anything specific, however, I think when mankind can get past the mentality of "my god" "wants" or "does not want" (fill in the blank) things can start to get better.
We can reform entitlements, tax rates, deficits, job creation, lower unemployment, protect national security and even be the world leader and if needed the world police, but cutting funding to planned parenthood, claiming rape is "gods will," denying same sex civil unions, unequal status over race and/or sex of the individual, claiming homosexuality and/or peoples pacts with the devil is the cause of natural disasters - all under the guise of "god" won’t do any of it.
The last place to look for civility is in religion.

Conservatives have their "god". Progressives have socialism. Both groups are about forcing their lifestyle choices on the rest of society. All the other items ken listed are just the details of how they do it. At the street level I honestly believe both groups think they are doing what is best. At the top levels, it's just good propaganda for control, mostly on an economic level. It's so much easier to control the flow of money vs putting physical chains on people (that's too overt and might alert the citizens they're just slaves to the system).
