How about next we talk about the douchebag, 'look at me' Harley riders infecting our space ?

RE: silly thumper music - kalakoa - 04-29-2013

I prefer a loud motorcycle to a dead rider.

If they can't hear your horn, use the "universal finger sign".

Loud music like those thumpers should be outlawed and ticketed regularly as well as insanely loud motorcycles. My dad was a biker, and the REAL reason they run loud pipes is because they get a kick out of annoying other people with their noise. I know this because I remember dad and his buddies laughing about how loud it was and how many babies they would wake up. There is no reason to have things this loud. It's inexcusable!

Just had some thumpers drive off from the end of Beach Road in HPP and up Kaloli Drive. It was easy to figure out where they'd just been - dogs barking like mad as they passed each house. Anyone who's just been woken up within a half mile of Kaloli, probably all the way up to the highway, will now know why they've been woken up.

FWIW, I used to work in a 'tourist sensitive' area that was also well inside a perfectly fine, cruising zone for these systems and culture...... IMO, its all about giving respect and it will be received and returned. Shoots .. I have even had a gun fired behind me but the volume went down ...... Just gotta go talk.

I'm a big believer in giving respect. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude, I love my music loud, good ol' classic rock n roll. BUT... These "thumper" systems are not really that much louder inside the car they are outside. They aren't made for listening to your music, they are designed to vibrate the trunk lid and be very annoyingly noisy to those around them. People who play music that loud within about 2 miles of another human being are being disrespectful to all who have to hear it. Same goes for the motorcycles. Causing extreme amounts of unnecessary noise within earshot of unwilling people is always very disrespectful, and that fact should not need to be explained to anyone, it's common courtesy.
