RE: Council Tries to Slow Waste to Energy Plan - pahoated - 08-07-2013 Watched a re-run of the July 23 council meeting about a communication from the county regarding its energy projects. Wille was chair and she seemed drunk or stoned, and the rest of the council was almost like statues while the county guys gave their presentations. The presentations were very well done, detailed comprehensive planning, rational reasons for implementation. The county public works guy for alternative energy was very knowledgeable about every aspect the county has going on, what they call dockets. The West Hawaii Civic Center is like their golden child. It has a 250kW grid-tie solar PV system with either a 100kW-hr or 250kW-hr lithium-ion battery that can provide full power until 3AM. It produces more power than it uses so they are selling that to HELCO. These reports are from the perspective of the county being a customer and source for HELCO. It's well worth catching on cable if it reruns again, lots of information there. Of course, the "testimony" from Puna was LOL! circus clowns. "This island Hawaii on this island Earth" |
