RE: Slab Homes - jackson - 09-11-2013 I have seen galvanized steel rust and deteriorate here due to SO2 RE: Slab Homes - kalakoa - 09-11-2013 Wood remains popular because it's very forgiving, requires no special tools, and is available on a whim. All the "better" building materials require planning the project in advance, which only works if you have money enough to invest the time. RE: Slab Homes - Rob Tucker - 09-11-2013 Yeah, that planning part is a real killer. RE: Slab Homes - kalakoa - 09-11-2013 It's not the planning, it's the extra time. Not everyone can afford to wait 3 years, or even 3 months. RE: Slab Homes - sputnut - 09-11-2013 build a pond on your lot and buy a houseboat. Problem solved! comin' your way soon! RE: Slab Homes - Carey - 09-11-2013 Heck, motor it over & shipping problem also solved... RE: Slab Homes - kalakoa - 09-11-2013 You're both right! It was my fault all along, because I made the mistake of caring. RE: Slab Homes - sputnut - 09-12-2013 I was actually joking, but the plaster wouldn't even crack in the houseboat, no matter how bigga quake hit. comin' your way soon! RE: Slab Homes - rainyjim - 09-12-2013 Uh. You couldn't really motor a houseboat across the pacific could you, Carey? RE: Slab Homes - Carey - 09-12-2013 COULD or Would??? I would not...but I've heard of stranger things.... even the plastic bottle 'Junk' boat: http://junkraft.blogspot.com/ and there is this travel channel video series: http://www.travelchannel.com/video/the-ocean |
