RE: Punaweb gets roasted - DaVinci - 07-27-2014 I don't think TomK was disputing the age of the Hawaiian belief system. I think he was questioning the likelihood that a supernatural creature named Pele actually exists inside the volcano, and the seemingly arbitrary criteria Tiffany applies in order to embrace this mythical volcano goddess with no evidence, and embrace astrology with no evidence, but then reject and ridicule Christianity and those who align themselves with it. RE: Punaweb gets roasted - TomK - 07-27-2014 Yep, DaVinci, that's about it. Wish I could have been as succinct as you! RE: Punaweb gets roasted - missydog1 - 07-27-2014 Tom, you need a better way to commute, man. Befriend a Martian, he'll get you here and back. RE: Punaweb gets roasted - TomK - 07-27-2014 The Martians are the ones sending cloaked ships that suddenly appear as birds and bugs spraying toxins into the atmosphere, you can't trust them. As O'bob knows, the Galactic evil people are behind that. My guys are friendly but you'll know them as they have impossibly unpronounceable names. Just a bit of fun, and in case people don't understand the volcano reference, this link is from the best US TV series ever (IMHO) and is actually quite well researched: http://www.tubewatcher.tv/15026 (You have to actually click the play button to make it work). RE: Punaweb gets roasted - mikewj - 07-28-2014 TomK: Thanks for the video clip. Somehow I missed that segment of Boston Legal. LMAO. The things that we embrace to give a reason for being never cease to amaze me. RE: Punaweb gets roasted - pohaku_uli - 07-28-2014 jeeez..... its like watching a car crash, you want to look away, but keep looking back, painfully! RE: Punaweb gets roasted - TomK - 07-28-2014 No problem, mikewj, that was a great episode but there are also so many others from that series to choose from! Ripping the supreme court justices a new one and the episodes with that lawyer from Texas (I forget the character's name) were some of the best, funniest and most intelligently scripted TV episodes I have ever watched! In my mind right up there with "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime Minister". If you haven't seen those before, I suspect you'll enjoy them! RE: Punaweb gets roasted - missydog1 - 07-28-2014 That was great, Tom. I miss the brilliant Alan Shore. All good things must come to an end, I guess, but yay for syndication, Netflix, and Youtube, etc.. I've not seen these Minister series nor heard of them, but if they compare, I'll seek them out. Watching a Brit drama series called "The Hour" this week. Speaking of Brit humor, there is something worth listening to in a good way on that roast, the last segment with Graham Ellis, where he performs a self-roast. The man has excellent comedic flair, sharp wit, timing, delivery, understatement, and knows better than to ruin a punch line by following it with a cackle or giggle. He has everything that the "comics" preceding him lacked. I'm sorry it was audio only. Thumbs up. [8D] RE: Punaweb gets roasted - TomK - 07-28-2014 Kathy - Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister were very different to Boston Legal, but probably the best comedy to come out of the UK ever, even better than Fawlty Towers. Really clever stuff and beautifully scripted and acted. A little dated now but apparently they were Margaret Thatcher's favourite TV series. Anyway, this is getting a little beyond Puna now, sorry about that. Yes, Prime Minister is available via Netflix if you use that service, unfortunately Yes, Minster isn't, which is a real shame because you can't see the transformation of Jim Hacker from novice MP to PM. But you can get it via Amazon. Anyway, enough from me on this. RE: Punaweb gets roasted - missydog1 - 07-28-2014 Thanks Tom, for the information, I can take it from there.
