Generally cropping of ears is to give the dog an advantage over another dog in a fight so the other dog can't bite or clamp down on the dogs ears. I bet a lot of owners like to claim that its just a style they think looks good...you know that 'doberman look'. Either way you are an asshole if you mutilate your dog.

Some people here really need to wake up to the fact that animal abuse is going on here on this island and is alive and well.
Don't go home, SPEAK OUT. It's a fact that if someone is abusing a family pet, they are very likely abusing family as well. This is NOT ACCEPTED ANYWHERE ... PERIOD. If you hear something Call the non emergency line and REPORT IT! Then call the Humane Society and report it to them as well. We can live in a Better Place among good people ... We just need to do are part and do the right thing.
We also do have laws on the books about dog barking and probably soon rooster noise as well. Cops will come and write out tickets ...

Hey Eagle don't get so distracted by the name calling. whata YA think about the name lucky number 7? And what color is he. Your very right though about the lack of decorum with the name calling and all,that never seemed to add any validity to any point attempting to be made (right or wrong)

FJ, I sent you a PM but since your here. He is red/rust in color and about a year and a half old. Took him to my vet when we landed in HILO, generally he's OK except for an ear infection and in need of worming, also he's about 30 pounds under weight for a dog his age. When I got him home he preferred to hang by himself, but after checking just know, he seemed to have warmed up to the other dogs, their chaseing each other around the yard rite now. Will have to change his name, the previous owners named him Lucifer.
