Thank you, Robguz and John. I will be at Maku'u this Sunday. If I could not find it, then I will give Scott a call. Mahalo.

If you want Sharky's coffee, be careful as there is also Shark's coffee being sold on the island.

Does anyone know if you sell at Maku'u Market if you MUST have a GE license?

Hey, P.S.. One thing I have found in short supply is lilikoi products. I love them: Butter, Jelly, Sauce....right now the market is cornered by auntylilikoi.com, a company on Kauai. There was a guy who sells these products at the Hilo Farmer's market, but he is inconsistent and his prices are not much lower than if you buy from auntylilikoi.com and have it shipped.

I would like to see someone who knows how to prepare these products sell locally.

I think a good sandwhich set up would work.

Cubans, tortas, all differetn meats and cheeses, MUST be toasted though. Good bread,(O'Keefe's?) something of that nature. Just my 2 cents...

sounds like you have spent sometime in Mexico?

Oooo yeah - or what about steak hoagies with roasted red & green bell peppers? Yum. Okay...I'm fat and need to walk more.

Hook up with the lady who's making the green papaya salads. Offer to double her current sales. Add in another salad maker, (yourself)

At least she looks to have it going on, always a line a people patently waiting, 15-20 minutes.

You need a GE license for any kind of business activity and you need to register your business with the DCCA. (httP://businessregistrations.com)

So John, the people that sell used books and garage sale-type stuff in the back row at the Maku'u Market - they had to have a GE?

I know some people that have just taken some of their things to the Market to sell and don't recall them having a GE license.

There is an IRS publication about business vs hobby, you might want to Google it. It's not a business if you go there to sell some books you no longer need but it's a business if you are there every day.
