RE: Terrible article about Pahoa and lava - Punaperson - 12-26-2014 Zip codes can be misleading. The 96778 number includes not only Aina Loa (4,000+ residents),Tiki Gardens, but also part of OLE. The general store on Orchidland Drive is considered to be in Pahoa and has that zip code. RE: Terrible article about Pahoa and lava - PauHana - 12-26-2014 Email the editor, not the reporter. If he/she is any good that reporter's chain will get yanked; hard. RE: Terrible article about Pahoa and lava - Kapohocat - 01-06-2015 And finally, a pretty decent article about Pahoa - I posted it here because she refers to the Newsweek article in her article. What I learned from a town threatened by lava: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/wendy-fontaine/what-i-learned-from-a-town-threatened-by-lava_b_6412034.html RE: Terrible article about Pahoa and lava - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 01-06-2015 Thanks Kopohocat. Great article! Nice to see that the writer and visitor recognized Pahoa's determination, as well as the strength and resilience of residents to live with a volcano as their neighbor. With maybe enough left over to survive a couple of destination experts. There's no need to scare people away from Puna with warnings of impending doom, visitors may actually come away inspired by what they see here. Now that's Pahoa Strong! RE: Terrible article about Pahoa and lava - Justin - 01-06-2015 Yes, thanks for sharing Kapohocat, I was just about to share that myself. I love how they reamed the Newsweek article. |
