Hey PunaMauka2, what in the #$%! are you taking offense for? Really man, is it that you just can't handle the idea of urinating on yourself? Is there something wrong with that? Or speaking about it in 'polite' company? Are you aware that it, peeing on yourself, is the best way to deal with a Vana, Sea Urchin, puncture wound?

According to WebMD, Tinea Versicolor, (Haole Rot) is caused by having oily skin, sweating or just living in a humid climate. It is not contagious or caused by dirty towels, is best treated with selenium.

Adding one cap of bleach solution to a cup of water and soaking a cotton ball for application on the fungus. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash off thoroughly with a soap to prevent skin irritation. Apply every day for a few minutes to cure the fungus infection. - and only wear white clothes that you wash in hot water with bleach and detergent. It works!

Aloha ElysianWort. I offer a sincere response to a sincere query.
I've never tried urine before on fungus, but I know (from personal experience) it works to numb the immediate pain of sea urchin spines. (Wana if my Hawaiian dictionary is correct) Vinegar dissolves the spines, but it takes time.
Back to topic. It sounds like you've tried most everything. While clean and dry clothes, towels, and body are great, they do not necessarily cure or prevent misc. fungus. Everybody is different in the way they defend themselves against fungus, and respond to treatment.
I suggest that you keep trying until you find something that makes a "dent" in the problem, and then stick with it until it clears up. Sorry to say that it sometimes takes months (or longer) of treatment to effect desired result. Our climate is perfect for fungal growth.
My Dad recalled having what he called "jungle rot" in Hawaii during WW 2. I never knew exactly what it was, but I have a better idea of the array of fungus people suffer from here now. It can be anything from toenails, to feet, to "haole rot" to ringworm we can get from our cats.
Despite fungus not being a subject most people wish to talk about, you are not alone or there wouldn't be so many recommendations so far in this thread.

Some of the fungus meds, including prescription ones, contain Uric Acid. Guess what that is?

I developed a fungal infection around my private parts. I managed to get it under control, but was very surprised when my wife came back from her doctor with a diagnosis of "Athlete's vagina".
