RE: Earthquake - Frankie Stapleton - 06-27-2015 Really! Extremely shallow. Never seen one at a 10th of a kilometer before. Quite a jolt here in Nanawale, but short. Shook up all the glass on my shelves. There was an earlier, milder one near Pahala but this one looks like the Hilina Pali area. RE: Earthquake - Stizz - 06-27-2015 I think it said depth of 8.5 km on the HVO site. RE: Earthquake - Frankie Stapleton - 06-27-2015 This is what it says on the HVO site: Magnitude: 5.0 Depth (km): 0.1 Local Time: 2015/06/27 22:10:09 Time (UTC): 2015/06/28 08:10:09 Latitude: 19.3118 Longitude: -155.2135 RE: Earthquake - msrocket - 06-27-2015 Didn't we just have a June 27 2014 lava flow? RE: Earthquake - Frankie Stapleton - 06-27-2015 Here's the HVO EQ map link. I think some of you are clicking on the earlier red dot that was closer to Pahala. Therehave been two felt, recorded quakes in the past 2 hours. RE: Earthquake - Lee M-S - 06-27-2015 Right after I noticed that the coquis had suddenly shut up, the earthquake hit. They went back to calling less than a minute after the quake. Did anybody else notice the sudden silence? ><(((*< ... ><(("< ... ><('< ... >o> RE: Earthquake - Frankie Stapleton - 06-27-2015 Sorry, forgot to paste the link: http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/seismic/volcweb/earthquakes/ RE: Earthquake - faroutsider - 06-27-2015 When the lava lake went down recently, the lava was thought to be underground in that area and there were many small quakes in that area as well. RE: Earthquake - msrocket - 06-27-2015 Yes, the frogs shut up 2-3 seconds before, caught my attention. RE: Earthquake - ElysianWort - 06-28-2015 Same thing I noticed. That 2 seconds of silence where the coquis muted just before the quake was eerie. I remember thinking, "wtf?" Then everything shook. |
