RE: Pesticides in paradise: Hawaii's spike in bir - PaulW - 08-25-2015 Sorry if I sounded condescending but your argumentation is very poor. I wouldn't drink a cup of bleach. So it should be banned? Just in case? RE: Pesticides in paradise: Hawaii's spike in bir - bananahead - 08-25-2015 So Ive been daily/weekly spraying and carelessly breathing in RoundUp gloveless with many a leaky nozzle between wethanded lunch/snack/donut breaks for 25+ years now total (County Worker and/or multi-acre jungle owner). Do I HAVE Cancer NOW??? OMG! answer NO, and I (a modern human in a modern science World) will live to be 76-81 yrs old (on average)...... longer than any Era of humans before us, but not as long as our even more modern kids will live... Puna kine paranoia is highly entertaining, keep it up suggestion: try 'smartmeters' again, thats always a hoot, or maybe go for a thread on how the government gave you morgellons, or are spraying you with magic brainwashing fairydust from commercial jet aircrafts ... and explain your theories "why" again, that ALWAYS the best part!!! aloha sorry, the anti-Monsanto crowds pickleheaded comments have already been rationally replied too... and I just wanted to add something ****************************************************************** save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha RE: Pesticides in paradise: Hawaii's spike in bir - dakine - 08-25-2015 quote:Apology accepted, but your argument doesn't hold water methinks. If you were to take that bleach, mix it up in even a diluted concentration, put it in a sprayer and fill the air with tiny droplets of it that came drifting down on the community I live in I suspect some of my neighbors would see that as terroristic threatening. Seriously Paul I don't think the police would protect your right to do that! So yes, if bleach were used in the same way as are the chemicals big agribusiness is reportedly using here in the islands I believe it would be banned too. At least that type of application. I mean for reals brah, imagine the damage you'd do to people lungs! Some of those people spray it around too. I don't think 911 would be very responsive. RE: Pesticides in paradise: Hawaii's spike in bir - MarkP - 08-25-2015 I was wondering how to work that in without seeming too snide, but I and countless others bathe in the stuff, literally. RE: Pesticides in paradise: Hawaii's spike in bir - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 08-27-2015 How much is enough to kill you: water, pot, chocolate, etc. There is enough cyanide in two cherry pits to do you in, so don't ever bite them: http://io9.com/asap-science-runs-through-how-many-cherry-pits-and-tabl-1727081912 RE: Pesticides in paradise: Hawaii's spike in bir - Lodestone - 08-27-2015 quote:Cherry sales obviously need to be banned until proper labeling can be affixed to each cherry: DO NOT CHEW PITS AGONIZING, HORRIBLE DEATH BY CYANIDE INGESTION MAY RESULT Of course, the font will be too small for anyone to read, so sales will not be affected. Win-win. RE: Pesticides in paradise: Hawaii's spike in bir - robguz - 08-30-2015 Anyone who thinks the amount of pesticide used by these companies is more than a drop in the bucket compared to overall pesticide use by homeowners, the county, golf courses, resorts, and agriculture on Kauai is completely deluding themselves. In the first week of any epidemiology course one learns that the appearance of a cluster of something is almost totally meaningless for many reasons, and almost never holds up on further investigation. The Guardian has lost all credibility IMHO.
