According to radar (and some extent, satellite images), there is some heavy precipitation moving into the Volcano and Lower Puna area, and some nasty stuff offshore that might hit Upper Puna, but more likely Hilo and Hamakua in a few hours.
I'm a little surprised we're not under a flash flood watch, although there is a flood advisory for the Big Island.

I forgot to reset my Puna rain gauge, just set it out now. However, my 10' diameter catchment tank, recently drained almost completely, has risen 3' since this morning.

Well, that prediction disappeared down the drain. There was a large storm a few miles SE of HPP and within minutes of my post it completely dissipated. No rain here at all right now, but lots of moisture out there. It's going to be an interesting few days...

In OCLA on 37th. 6.575 inches 12 hours ending at 3:30 AM. But right now the moon is shining and there is a respite from the rains.

My bucket collected no more since 1:30 this morning and the sun is shining now.
It has been a wet weekend for me in more ways than one. I have spent the entire weekend re-building my water system and chasing repeated leaks. Everything smells like mold and my floor tile is lifting in places. My catchment tank is full again though.

well thanks for the info it poured last night and the front yard had a pond for the ducks this morning. now its sunny and hot but I am guessing that will change by the night and tomorrow it will be raining again. tough to predict .
