RE: code enforcement circus comes to Ranchos - shockwave rider - 02-14-2016 http://hawaiitribune-herald.com/news/local-news/bill-would-ban-big-solar-neighborhoods According to this article the Ranchos solar project is still happening, but future similar projects will not be allowed on Big Island AG subdivisions if this bill is passed. I wonder if there is any correlation between those who fought or supported the project and who was reported to the county, the timing feels just a little too convenient. RE: code enforcement circus comes to Ranchos - Obie - 02-14-2016 "According to this article the Ranchos solar project is still happening" It's a permitted use on AG land. What is ticking me off is my neighbor who has a dog breeding facility on residential property ! We bought our home in a residential zoned neighborhood and we shouldn't have to listen to dogs going off all day! Previosly they had goats and a pig ! Vacationland was zoned residential from its inception, so we should have all of the amenities that come with R zoning !!! RE: code enforcement circus comes to Ranchos - Punatic007 - 02-14-2016 Breeding dogs in residential areas of Puna needs to be illegal right along with the roosters. RE: code enforcement circus comes to Ranchos - geochem - 02-14-2016 Absolutely, let's pass another law that will be selectively enforced... RE: code enforcement circus comes to Ranchos - Obie - 02-14-2016 No need for another law, these things are already illegal in R zoning . RE: code enforcement circus comes to Ranchos - kalakoa - 02-15-2016 No need for another law, these things are already illegal in R zoning . Enforcement is "complaint driven". Have you tried complaining to the County? Hawaii's statutes have dozens or hundreds of laws and administrative rules that are seldom enforced. Obviously we need to change the law to include: for every new law passed, three old laws must be rescinded. Until you have a government that actually governs here, it is impossible to do real business in this state. The TMT debacle suggests that the permitting process is completely pointless because any permits you do manage to acquire can simply be taken away later... Someone learned how to play the game and is simply screwing over the people who screwed them over. I further suspect that County doesn't really want clean/consistent enforcement, because they have plenty to hide. Starting with "let our buddies subdivide worthless land miles from nowhere and sell the lots without any infrastructure." RE: code enforcement circus comes to Ranchos - rainyjim - 02-15-2016 quote: It's too bad you don't have more information on this (or do you?), if there was substantive documentation of these anecdotes, then this information could be of great value to those in Ocean View who may be currently 'under fire'. RE: code enforcement circus comes to Ranchos - rainyjim - 02-15-2016 quote: First of all, aloha. Second, this is not an attack, do not take it as such. Third, have you even been there? It is not all pallet shacks. Like just about everywhere on BI there is a mixture of nice homes and tarp-like structures. |
