RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - macuu222 - 10-20-2017 Construction has finally begun (sort of). They bulldozed the frontage area.... RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - 2liveque - 10-20-2017 Umeke's Bar and Grill entering the scene is a game changer! Pahoa will once again hold claim to being the small Big Island town with the best eats. Now if we can only get those movie theaters! RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - Lodestone - 02-08-2018 An update... http://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/2018/02/07/hawaii-news/puna-kai-shopping-center-in-pahoa-nearly-100-leased-out/ In addition to Malama Mart and a gas station, the tenant list now includes: Under the Bodhi Tree, Chef TK, Fitness Forever, Goodwill, Jeans Warehouse, L&L Drive-In, Maui Tacos, McDonald’s, Strato’s New York Pizzeria, Sushi Rolls and Bowls, UPS and Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill. RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - MarkD - 02-08-2018 "Maybe the arrival of a Dunkin' Donuts would finally result in some enhanced police presence in Pahoa." (from Chunkster) How dare you disparage our esteemed law enforcement officials. RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - Rob Tucker - 02-08-2018 I am sorry to see some of our Old Town Pahoa businesses will be leaving Main Street... but I understand. RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 02-08-2018 sorry to see some of our Old Town Pahoa businesses will be leaving Main Street I agree. Downtown Pahoa has a unique charm that can't be replicated with modern plantation style architecture. It's Puna's Paia, Makawao, or Hawi. Recycle Puna. Humans, although probably not you personally, have already left 400,000 pounds of trash on the moon. - YouTube's Half As Interesting RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - EightFingers - 02-08-2018 “Charm” still requires maintenance. Some of the charm is rotten and needs to be replaced. A fresh coat of paint wouldn’t hurt either. RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - kalakoa - 02-08-2018 Some of the charm is rotten and needs to be replaced. Charm is grandfathered against current codes, sometimes at the expense of public safety. RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - birdmove - 02-08-2018 I didn't see a Starbuck's or Coffe Bean and Tea Leaf? Jon in Keaau/HPP RE: Puna Kai shopping center: this time for sure - Rob Tucker - 02-08-2018 Fine by me. Don't we have enough local coffee providers here? A Starbucks chain store would lower the "charm" here substantially. Why send your coffee dollars off island. Big Island grows it's own coffee. |
