RE: Eileen Ohara resolution 732 - Rob Tucker - 10-31-2018 I would think that any restoration of access prior to the state legislature determining the level of funding to be provided (if any) would inhibit Mayor Kim from his habit of overspending. Mayor Kim will do nothing until two to three times the needed funds are in hand so he can maintain the feeding and watering of his political supporters at a level to which they have become accustomed (contractors and vendors). In the normal CoH environment the needs of Puna residents will be secondary to the needs of Mayor Kim's loyalists. Just my opinion. Now lawsuits, mentioned above, are the one thing Mayor Kim is not prepared for. Lawsuits involve "discovery". Discovery is something Kim will do everything he can to avoid. That is why lawsuits are a good idea and long overdue. RE: Eileen Ohara resolution 732 - kalakoa - 10-31-2018 Lawsuits involve "discovery". Which discoveries will provide grounds for additional lawsuits. Get this party started! RE: Eileen Ohara resolution 732 - dan d - 11-02-2018 It passed the council. Thanks to those that helped pass it on. One more vote is required ... complicated by a provision in Mayor Harry Kim's latest emergency declaration that says clearing of lava rock with the intent of establishing "roads, trails, driveways or clearings for any purpose" is prohibited The latest declaration runs through 12/29, some people won't be allowed "home in time for Christmas". How is there not a lawsuit? RE: Eileen Ohara resolution 732 - BillyB - 11-03-2018 Eileen Ohara deserves a pat on the back for having the integrity to keep doing her job even after loosing the last election. In the past Council members who have lost their seat simply slink off to sulk for the remainder of their term. The contrast shines a light on how honorable people behave. Well done Eileen. RE: Eileen Ohara resolution 732 - dan d - 11-03-2018 I fully respect what Eileen has and continues to do to help the puna population. She doesnt go here on pw so u can thank her by email or stop in the office and Kendra her excellent assistant will help u if Eileen isnt there. Thanks pwebers. County officials said the roads belong to DHHL, but the county takes care of maintenance. With all the roads that are "privately owned" and all the highways that are "State owned", seems like County should be able to maintain the few remaining "public" roads. for the three speed humps. ... the cost would be $6,000. No wonder County can't afford to maintain anything! RE: Eileen Ohara resolution 732 - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 11-03-2018 I’m watching college football games today. One commercial stood out - - Dominos Pizza is fixing roads in America, so their pizzas won’t bounce around on delivery. They said to call them if you’ve got a pothole needing repair. I’m sure Dominos fixes roads better than Hawaii County could make pizzas: https://www.thrillist.com/news/nation/dominos-paving-for-pizza-pothole-repair RE: Eileen Ohara resolution 732 - kalakoa - 11-03-2018 They said to call them if you’ve got a pothole needing repair. The one in front of my house is about a mile and a half long, maybe 8-10 feet wide? RE: Eileen Ohara resolution 732 - Obie - 11-03-2018 I'm getting a 17 million improvement to my place.Maybe you should rethink about where you live. https://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/2018/11/02/hawaii-news/kalanianaole-avenue-road-project-continues/ |
