It is possible to drill and tap the hole out to the next size if there is enough material, or drill it out and install Helicoil threads into the hole. Helicoil kits come in all sizes but don't come cheap. Is the material metal or plastic?

Royall, thanks for your interest but I don't have the skill to do this, metal or plastic. That's why I'm looking for someone else to repair it.

Good question. It's all plastic. Not sure how it will hold up: it won't rust, but it also doesn't have to support an engine block. It did come with a 5-year warranty.
Cheapest way to get the second battery is ... bundled with the chainsaw.
My cheap Honda (HD) mower has a great engine but the deck got so rusted out (being stored under cover) that all my Plywood Puna Repairs could not longer keep it viable. I broke down and bought a Ryobi mower today. Still waiting for battery to charge but part way through I trialed a "sneak peek" and although it was just a few minutes I was very impressed.
Now that it's been awhile, how has yours held up?

We got one of these a few years ago. Ran great until it didn't. And there is no one here that repairs them. I looked. Even tracked down "the guy in Hilo" who used to repair them but no longer touches them. Spoke with numerous people at Home Depot about why they sell products that they know no one will fix. Everyone agreed it was not ideal but oh well. We ended up getting a new mower. Take good care of it! Let me know if you need parts. :-)

I bought a cheap Troybuilt mower at Lowe’s six years ago. Never have a problem with it except I have to change the air filter once a year. This year I bought a new blade as the other one was almost sharpened away.
Of course, now that I’ve written this, I’ll go out tomorrow and it’ll be a pile of rust with plastic on top.

how has yours held up?
Still going strong. Bagging is the best part, the trimmings make mud "in a place of my choosing" so the driveway stays dry. Already want to fill in the trails so I can mow them too.
With the handle folded flat, there's feet behind the rear wheels, so the mower can be stored standing up -- besides the small footprint, this orientation allows everything to breathe.
I don't miss the noise or the smell of exhaust, not even a little.

Used the Ryobi mower today. It exceeded my expectations. I never saw myself owning a plastic lawn mower but after watching the steel deck of the Honda mower melt over the years I figured I had nothing to lose.

Are you talking about the "E Go" mower? That's what we have and I LOVE it!
While using the self propel feature and wading through really high grass (during which it will increase RPM to cut) it will run for over 45 minutes.
Easy start, less noise. Better than a gas mower in my mind.
