It could be coming to your town soon.
It's already here. Given our many daily flights to Japan, South Korea, and the West Coast for the last couple months, the chances of it not being here already are practically zero. We just haven't found the ill individuals yet, but by the time we do, there will already be 100 people infected for each case we know about and containment will be impossible. Look at Washington and Italy to see where we are headed and make preparations.

It's very heartening that you can read between the lines and see the implications.
Given the situation unfolding in Italy (mass quarantines, closing of all schools, cancellation of all sporting events, prison riots and escapes, etc) the time for sly references and innuendo is past.
This isn't 2009 Swine flu or 2003 SARS or anything that's been seen for 100 years. This is shaping up to be a world altering event - if you want to see what comes after, you should be paying attention and making plans now.

Coronavirus symptoms 'take five days to show'
It takes five days on average for people to start showing the symptoms of coronavirus, scientists have confirmed.
The Covid-19 disease, which can cause a fever, cough and breathing problems, is spreading around the world and has already affected more than 111,000 people.
The US team analysed known cases from China and other countries to understand more about the disease.
Most people who develop symptoms do so on or around day five.
Anyone who is symptom-free by day 12 is unlikely to get symptoms, but they may still be infectious carriers.
The researchers advise people who could be infectious - whether they have symptoms or not - to self-isolate for 14 days to avoid spreading it to others.
If they follow that guidance - which has already been adopted in the UK and US - it is estimated that for every 100 individuals quarantined for a fortnight, one of them might develop symptoms after being released, Annals of Internal Medicine reports.
