If they don't raise the $15,000 I guess they can get a nickle a piece from Recycle Hawaii.
This is one of the problems with trying to follow the press too closely.

"They were willing to risk their lives", and further pollute the ocean and cost millions of dollars of CG money had they been shipwrecked.
That 35K wold have been better spent by the Canadian teenager who's doing somthing about the problem.

When do they estimate landing in Hawaii? It looks like they are on 1/3 of the way.

I've been reading their blog every time they update it. While the newspaper is reporting it to arrive in August, the two of them really don't know at this point in time.
If you read the blog from the beginning, it's a great story. They aren't the only ones who have tried something similar.
