RE: Nissan Leaf Battery Replacement Alternative To Dealer? - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 06-04-2022 I just bought an EV car. It didn't include a charger cable so I found this one on sale for $50.00 off for the month of June: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NBCSC1455?cid=paidsearch_shopping_dcoe_google_monthly-special_202205&campaign=GSC-Promos&campaign_id=6478906937&adgroup_id=78844950918&adtype=pla&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4uaUBhC8ARIsANUuDjWhc0AqjHcPxs00C515oeIM7gxosN7fjhUQcVFjj_fzTfG1A755OxYaAp2eEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds& It has a standard NEMA 6-20 plug for 220V (which you can adapt to a 220V dryer outlet), and an adapter plug for use with standard 120V AC household current. Both are 16 amp so even the Level 1 120 V will charge faster than the 8 amp or 12 amp plugs usually included with the vehicle. It's a good deal, by far the lowest price I've found for a Level 1-2 charger. Drove to Kona and back no problem, no range anxiety. The regenerative braking added mileage on the downslopes of Saddle Road, I'd say maybe 10+ miles of range as I headed downhill. RE: Nissan Leaf Battery Replacement Alternative To Dealer? - Rob Tucker - 06-04-2022 Cool. What did you get, where did you get it and what did it cost? RE: Nissan Leaf Battery Replacement Alternative To Dealer? - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 06-04-2022 Kia EV6 Bought it at Aloha Kia Hilo. Cost too much, but think it will be worth it in the long run, as I can charge from solar. I could get in and drive home without difficulty. But for all of the features there’s a long learning curve. Like the autonomous steering feature - - I drove several miles with hands hovering over the steering wheel, not touching or holding it. You can set the adaptable cruise control and following distance to the car in front of you and it locks in at highway speed. When approaching a stoplight it will automatically slow and pull up behind the car in front, when the light turns green it will accelerate and follow - - all without my foot on the pedals. Although my foot is over the pedals because I’m not ready to turn over full control. RE: Nissan Leaf Battery Replacement Alternative To Dealer? - 'elepaio - 06-04-2022 Did it come with tow strap ? Wonder if can tow it with a single driver in petro car. You know, cause can. RE: Nissan Leaf Battery Replacement Alternative To Dealer? - Chas - 06-05-2022 "I drove several miles with hands hovering over the steering wheel, not touching or holding it... all without my foot on the pedals" Is it an autonomous car? Do they say you can do that? Our Toyota manual says to keep your hands on the wheel regardless of the assisted steering feature. RE: Nissan Leaf Battery Replacement Alternative To Dealer? - HereOnThePrimalEdge - 06-05-2022 Is it an autonomous car? It’s more like semi-autonomous. On roads with clearly painted lines, center and side, it perfectly stayed dead center in the lane, even on sharp curves. Didn’t work well with only the center line. I held my hands about a 1/2 inch over the wheel so could grab it in an instant if necessary. It has some accident avoidance features so if I try and change lanes and don’t see a car in my blind spot an alarm will sound and the steering will pull me back into my lane. If someone is about to cut me off the steering will engage to avoid them. I can override the automatic steering with my hands-on steering.
