WWWOOOOOOWWW!!! What a beautiful home! This is very close to what my wife and I want to build. You're killing me!

Thanks so much for sharing, David,
Brian

Yes, thanks for sharing David! The French doors coupled with the bank of windows would definetely bring the views, and the outside in. Absolutely spectactular -- and the home appears to be built as strong as tank! Many happy days there to you and your wife.

Thanks all

What may not be apparent re the french doors - the middle set are in-swing, the 2 outer sets are out-swing, so they "fold" almost against the wall.
and just to brag a bit I built the leaded glass windows from french door inserts.

Went to Argus web site. Can't view much, the site doesn't seem to be working. I tried to log in and that didn't work either.

This is a beautiful home, David! I am a bit confused by your post. Are you saying that this is a Castleblock home? I ask because we are very impressed by the materials they use and leaning in this direction.

Perhaps Rob can weigh in on different strategies for creating a "wall of windows."

RE: Packaged Houses - David M - 06-25-2007

hpp4me

Thanks

Yes, Castleblock home. What that means for us is the wall panel (SIP) system is ProTEC and the roofing panels are Galvamet - both Castleblock materials. Keep in mind that Rob (Castleblock) sells a variety of material, but I think most people that lay claim to the Castleblock description tend to use one of or combination of the wall systems available thru Castleblock. Hope this helps

Thanks! You have a home that should stand up to most anything!

Can these materials be used in a two-story building? I can't think of a reason why not, but I thought I'd ask. The wall system is steel framed, as I recall. That should provide ample support I would think.

Hi folks, I am in Yosemite on vacation.... just checking in when I can. Yes, we do do two story buildings.

Aloha!, back on July 5th.

Their chief web designer is a friend of mine and he changed jobs (leaving Argus) so I have a feeling it hasnt been updated or upgraded since he left more than 6 months ago. Argus number is 933-9441. They can mail or fax a copy of their house plans.
