RE: Ohia Trees... - wyatt - 05-13-2007 No problem Carie. Let me know successfull you are as I would like to try it on this Salmon Ohia of the neighbors. Aloha Wyatt RE: Ohia Trees... - nanasohana - 05-15-2007 If you carefully pull small ohia up out of the thin ground they are usually rooted in, and trim the long roots, leaving a good amount of roots, they probably would transplant fairly easy. Maybe soak them a few hours and then plant. I am trying this. RE: Ohia Trees... - wyatt - 05-16-2007 Hey Carrie, If you would like a baby Ohia tree. I have some that came up from seed. They are rooted in some hollow Hāpu'u fern logs easy to take with. Aloha Wyatt RE: Ohia Trees... - Carolann R - 05-16-2007 When can I come over? )))) Carrie RE: Ohia Trees... - Royall - 05-16-2007 I was in the Garden exchange today and they had air layering kits for $8.95. Royall What goes around comes around! RE: Ohia Trees... - mella l - 05-17-2007 Are the Ohia fast or slow growers? I think the salmon colored ones would be beautiful, I've never seen one. Thanks Royall for the tip of the air layering kit! mella l RE: Ohia Trees... - wyatt - 05-17-2007 Carrie anytime, call first. emailed phone number. Aloha Wyatt RE: Ohia Trees... - Carolann R - 05-18-2007 Thanks! Any new photos, Richard? I will have to show you my first lilikoi bloom. Our vine is doing just great, it's loving the fence we built for it. Carrie Edited by - Carolann R on 05/18/2007 07:09:02 RE: Ohia Trees... - Carolann R - 05-19-2007 Richard and Mark -- my ohias are happily planted in our front yard and I look forward to watching them grow. Thank you for yet another contribution to Casa de Rojo. Carrie RE: Ohia Trees... - wyatt - 05-20-2007 No worries, all in good friendship. let's just hope one is yellow.
