RE: fern acres - HawaiiTedd - 07-21-2011 FWIW...I think John Rabi meant Royal Hawaiian Estates (not Fern Forest) as the subdivision in Puna that is a "flag lot" development.[8D][] --- Life is the only thing worth living for... (This is what I think of the Kona Board of Realtors http://KonaBoardOfRealtors.info) RE: fern acres - topograph - 07-22-2011 We bought a lot in Fern Acres on Plumeria, and we have never regretted it! We looked all over the island before deciding on Fern Acres, and chose it because it had the (for us) best balance between lot size and paved roads. We've had it for 5 years, with no house yet- we've been steadily hand clearing and planting fruit trees, coming over about 3 x year from Oahu. When we started, we tried leaving a cooler and rake hidden in the ferns, but they disappeared... Other than that, we've found the neighbors to be friendly, and the general trend (on Plumeria at least) tends to be upwards as far as quality of the homes and maintenance of the lots. The community association is very diligent about keeping the roadways cleared of trash. |
