The next day, the inspector returned, again posing as a customer...
...and bought an array of products with SNAP...

So, the inspector is walking around with a fully loaded SNAP Card buying an "array of products."

If we are going to audit SNAP for merchant fraud, or ANY kind of fraud, I'd like to know what happens to the "array of products" the inspector buys. I'd say THAT needs to be fully audited. When theoretically, most purchases have to be food related. Who gets/where does the food purchased by the inspector go?

Square foot for square foot, that might be the best store on The Big Island.  They really take pride in what they do and what they do is support local producers.  We love that little store and we feel terrible for The Wards.  The whole three visit thing sounds sus to me.  This isn't like the bodegas in NY recently busted selling booze & kratom for SNAP $.  The coconut oil is simply a (barely) miscategorized item and the same person got it right on the next visit.  Six months is not even a remotely proportionate penalty for one minor error that was corrected without any enforcement needed.  If that is the whole story then it sure seems like entrapment to me Edge.

Isn't lying during testimony to Congress a crime?

Falling asleep on the job usually gets you fired...

Isn't lying during testimony to Congress a crime

?After the precedent set this week, everyone with something to hide will probably just plead the 5th.  Problem solved.

I saw that guy too.  In Orchidland Wiki. In Puna. Asking for a bottle shelved behind the counter. They made him buy a bag too, to carry it out of the store. In public. In Puna.

???  I don't think we are referring to the same thing.  Can you please clarify your meaning?

RE: Big Island Organizations & Programs Losing Funding - HiloJulie - 08-01-2026

I was hoping Tangy that YOU could clarify your meaning and who you are talking about, because the guy HOTPE described, I see almost every time I venture out of my trailer park home here in the Acres.

Did "the guy" testify before Congress this week?  I hope they served alcohol on the flight to DC.  If "the guy" I'm talking about is roaming The Acres, you might want to keep a close eye on your beagle.

While in the checkout line at Orchidland Wiki, in Puna, behind the guy pleading for a 5th, he was short 29 cents, another guy who wanted to prepay for $4 worth of gas was also going on, something about him hearing there were no lemmings in Puna?  And wondering, what’s a lemming?

RE: Big Island Organizations & Programs Losing Funding - Punatang - 08-01-2026

The conversation turned to testifying before congress and this beagle torturer tortured many, many residents of Puna in irreparable ways.  It is as relevant, and more, to Puna as any of the above whinging.  I can start a thread if that is preferred.  If you do have a lemming, and that guy is wandering Puna, your lemming might get blamed for things the guy did.  That's the pattern.

But the point is, in response to someone asking about lying to Congress, which was lemming approved, going forward, people with something to hide will likely take the 5th.  Problem solved.  Now move on and don't be a lemming.
