Ok, no worries. WE are all bargain hunting here if we have families, and things are unfortunately getting more and more expensive!

I read a lot .... run into stuff --- recently more than one financial website has noted that over all target is less expensive then wally world over all as part of their push for market share (studies)
raised my eye brow as well - the other issue wal mart is reportedly facing is a staff shortage - so they cant get the goods on the shelf - which has resulted in lost sales which results in more reduction in payroll budget - suggests a downward spiral
food for thought - Ive shifted my shopping as a result - Target having Iams at a good price well - senior dog kibble of all things - more money for less calories...... once the kids leave - one gets to keep the dog.....

Yeah, it was crazy last year when I worked for a care home here for 6 months.
I had a budget of $1800.00 to buy all food for 8 adults, with 3 meals, plus 2 snacks a day,
Plus all sundries, like toilet paper, light bulbs .......
Talk about creative shopping.
I finally had to quit that job from the stress.

This sounds terrible! It usually costs about 4k per month out of pocket per person (if they are private pay) to stay in a care home. That is 32,000 per month. I dont know the medicaid reimbursement rates anymore (and I am sure they are much less), but it sounds like someone "at the top" is pocketing a large profit every month from that Carehome. Wow.

It takes a village. Some in your village may have thoughtful, valid suggestions for you to consider. That being said, even the village idiot has a computer these days. He may not have a clue what it's like to raise four children on a day to day basis like you do, but he does have an internet connection.

Yeah, "victory gardens" wont be a wartime fixture, but will become the norm just for survival in the USA. The shrinking middle class is very real. If things continue the way they are- this country will look more like south america - with the wealthy living in gated secured communities and the masses of poor people basically living a sustanance life- with some additional benefits that the wealthy are paying for.

Oh, since I am forced to pay taxes are you saying that I own whatever I pay for and can do what I want with it? There are entire families on government subsistence, we can tell them what to do?

Where did I state that the school lunches are free? But, like my previous post- this is what is happening in this country. More and more kids need the "sometimes" free food at school. AND the wealthy will be the ones paying for it. Fine by me!
