I just got the following "explanation" from Amazon; it's almost funny, except that it's very very sad:

seems to be a shipper issue - I buy 20x20 ft. pond liners free fed ex delivery to Puna from amazon -
Its a free country .... Amazon sellers can set the rules they to want to work with
sometimes / most times its not about shipping - its about the seller having being defrauded - as seen on this web lately - lots of fraudsters about in paradise
I find have a good rep and contacting either the amazon or ebay seller before the transaction solves the issue. If not I find another seller.

Fraudsters are common out here - many just one step ahead of their home state enforcement agency...
Ive seen shrinks, real estate folk, teachers etc.... now the killer dentist come in under the lax licensing wire out here -
watch your wallet and health is the best advice I can offer - avoid the mainlander / flatlander mentality or new to town "professionals" both red flags.
I heard this from a long time Puna born and raised local ....
"Everyone is hiding from something out here on the east side"
Food for thought - me I like hidy holes - always have...
I tell my mainland friends that inquire about my lifestyle - If you like the movie Deliverance - you'll love Puna - and we have a Sears with a good tool department to boot
Got witness re location? lots of that out here as well..... makes for quiet neighbors - We aint in West Maui anymore Toto.....
