RE: Puna people skin fungi - Kenney - 03-12-2015 I'm not comfortable with the conclusion that "newcomers, having done everything, are loaded with multiple types of bacteria." (poor newcomers!) We're all loaded with multiple bacteria. 80% of human waste is bacteria. (ideally, the "friendly" kind) A bacterial infection, secondary to a fungal infection is a problem, but they're 2 different beasties. The really good advise IMHO is "the bottom line is see the Dr. for each and every type of irritation if it is more than an annoyance". They can't always help, but better safe than sorry. You can still treat problem however you choose, but it's good idea to "rule out" really scary stuff. Stay safe all! RE: Puna people skin fungi - tada - 03-12-2015 Uric acid gives you gout. Soap water kills it. Also each time in ocean, I put alcohol in ears to dry them out and kill bacteria. RE: Puna people skin fungi - ElysianWort - 03-12-2015 First let me update so we can be more clear of the situation: I am a Punatic but not a trog-punatic. I am a clean clean person who doesn't ever go to bed dirty and bathes every day. I am not one of those bacteria laden types. I keep my clothes clean and dry and do not wear wet clothing for long periods of time. I really appreciate any and all methods or remedies shared. I want to thank quite a few of you for your responses. Radiopeg, palanist, kenney pahoated and more. Dakine I thank you too for your response however I don't think I'll be peeing on myself. Snorkle you never mentioned what cured you. Also can any of you out there claim that you're on a completely alkaline diet and living happily doing it? I imagine if you're a vegan raw-foodist drinking only alkaline water then that might be you. "Life is a test with many failures and some success" RE: Puna people skin fungi - punalvr - 03-12-2015 Longs sells this antifungal solution that cures everything fungus. Not really expensive, but effective on every type of fungus that I have been attacked with. it is called "hi VETIC", it comes in a small white bottle with blue letters. 20 ml. Ask the pharmacist to help you locate it. I swear by it. Good luck! punalvr RE: Puna people skin fungi - rainyjim - 03-12-2015 I am on an alkaline diet but... It has no relation to fungi, And I don't really appreciate food the way most seem to. I view eating/cooking as a chore. If I could photosynthesize instead I'd gladly never take another bite! RE: Puna people skin fungi - ElysianWort - 03-12-2015 Thank you Punalvr and rainyjim. Much aloha to you both. Rainyjim keep at it if you can, I hear and understand the alkaline diet is basically a cure all or preventative for so many ailments. I was able to keep at it for 2 weeks before reverting back to foods that are acid forming. FYI almost all the good tasting foods are acid forming. Works well if you're one who is really into raw fruits and veggies exclusively. No sugars, almost no grains, especially never bread. Meats, dairy and desserts of any kind are acid forming. If you're going to eat seeds and nuts you need to soak them first to get the enzymes going. Man, tough work, I understand why you lost a love of food rainyjim.
