RE: Is Amazon Prime to Hawaii really worth it? - kalakoa - 03-22-2015 Hachette wanted to sell e-books for the same price Off-topic: despite the useful qualities of e-books, they are part of the "rent-seeking" scam common with digital media. Look no further than Amazon's "revocation" of digital editions of 1984. Another good example is the way DVDs are advertised "buy it now! own it today!", yet the fine print (on package, and before previews) says "this product is licensed for personal home use", and if you make a copy (for your own legal purposes) you've committed a separate criminal felony over and above the civil licensing violation. Who gets your e-books when you die? RE: Is Amazon Prime to Hawaii really worth it? - terracore - 03-22-2015 quote: You can setup an account with the barge company and have it shipped to you C/O them at their dock address on the mainland. I haven't done this in a long time, so I don't know what the rates are. RE: Is Amazon Prime to Hawaii really worth it? - ericlp - 03-22-2015 Hmm, yeah, you know this fits in a fairly SMALL box about 4'x2'x2'. It's the weight of the thing that will cause problems. I will check that option out but I am willing to bet that the price tag will be around 2-300 bucks. I guess it's just how bad you want one. ![]() ------------------------- To email me click on Link http://is.gd/QMfVEX |
