Aloha spirit? That poor girl. Wish I could get some of my Italian cousins over there so they could bodyguard her. I think fanatics talking violence can be dangerous when it suits them and it often isn't the instigator but some blindly devoted follower who causes the harm. The formation stage of a mob is sometimes the only stage where you can avoid a terrible situation and I really hope somebody is doing something to protect her and anyone else in the cross-hairs of the crazies. People need to distance themselves from the threateners and refuse to be associated with them asap.

This person has been "dismissed". His record is one of pure hate. We all should NOT allow for such behavior. [

This dumb ass "Kamahana" Kealoha (and all his other "names") is NOT part of the core "TMT movement", merely someone injecting himself into a "cause". The collection of all his monies will be scrutinized, and his position is not reflective of any of my ohana, nor others. In essence, his behavior is HEWA, and unacceptable. Again.
May we all find better ways to express ourselves in the coming days. This moron should be excommunicated from the "Hawaiian Kingdom/Nation" due to his utter disrespect.
In the old days, he could not walk in this child's shadow.(The student, Mailani, who started the petition in favor of TMT).

Mahalo, Opihikao. I have always had love and respect for Hawaiian culture and it is good to see that the psycho is not considered to be representative of it. As an aside, I have wondered who is considered to be Hawaiian royalty. There seem to be so many contenders!

Couldn't agree more with your action. I would be very interested if any action has been or will be taken. Not being a direct employee of UH I seem to have run into difficulties. I asked UH IfA about what is happening about this student. The first response was:
"UH administration is already dealing with this individual [...]"
Second response was:
"Regarding the UH student, I can unfortunately not say anything more. UH has a procedure to deal with issues of student misconduct, and I am not privy to that.[...]"
There was more to that last email which was basically "he apologised so no legal charges are likely" (I'm paraphrasing) but this is so disturbing. I understand why the person who sent me this email might say that, he's not part of the process, but for goodness sake, let's not let this student get away with his death threats and his verbal abuse of women.

I can't help but wonder if there might be other people like him in the Movement: ticking time-bombs just waiting to self-sabotage? The Anonymous crowd with their cyber graffiti were certainly no help.

I don't think there are other people like this guy. Yet. But people are now being brought into this controversy who have no idea or understanding of the arguments on either side and am now worrying things will get quite nasty. Maybe I should just stop watching what's going on in Baltimore, it doesn't apply to what's happening here, but there is a tiny minority who I think might be at home with the rioters and we need to make sure that doesn't happen here.
