I understand your point, It still was Shoresresident who asked for the wheelchair, burial expenses, dental work, relocation funds, who knows what else! Not her brother Elmer, I somehow doubt many of her family are even aware of what she is doing. But I forgot on Punaweb it is guilt by association.

Compassion does not mean you must give your money nor does it require that you believe in something. Gee, all that it asks is for your kindness. In thoughts, in words, and at times in deeds. No biggie, no need to get all self righteous, just a way of life, to live with aloha. Not as easy as it sounds eh? But certain worthy of our considerations. Don't you think?
A dear dear woman, Nana Veary, wrote a simple little book called Change We Must in which she share many aspects of her life with her readers. In an early chapter she spoke of a time as a child when she stayed with her grandparents who lived in the Pearl Harbor area of old. One day a stranger came down the path and Nana was cautious but her grandmother invited them in and offered them food. When asked by Nana about this her grandmother said that she invited in and fed the soul within the man, not the man himself. In part Nana used this example to explain how her concept of aloha was formed as she grew up.
In her life Nana touch many souls, and I believe everyone of them feels they were bettered for the experience. Practically every great local figure that has added to the culture, whether they be a musician or politician and from every walk of life in-between, was at one time or another touched by Nana. You'd be surprised how influential Nana was.
I don't think Change We Must is in print. When it is it's easy to find in the Hawaiian section at Basically Books. Otherwise I assume it's available in the libraries, and used online. Amazon has it here:

I believe many here would benefit from it's reading.
So, my point, when someone asks for your help, and you do not feel it is within you to give it, is it really necessary to be disparaging? Even if you suspect they are insincere maybe this is a situation in which mother's old saying that "if you do not have something nice to say say nothing" applies?

Your argument in this case is hardly convincing, hikatz. Shoresresident started this thread by promoting a gofundme fundraiser. Shoresresident has an extensive history of fraudulent attempts of fundraising on Punaweb, including the use of false identity (falsely using photo of mainland couple during lava flow episode). Now we are to presume the latest scam attempt is legitimate because Shoresresident was promoting a fundraiser for his/her supposed relative. I don't think so.
Is the donation total still at $0? Come on, dakine. Step up to the plate and show your Aloha.

I have seen this family in Hilo, from what I observed he is a great father, not easy raising 5 children by yourself.

Dakine apparently you have your own personal slant of what compassion really means. So far we've read from you that it's OK to bypass all the legal processes to contest TMT before it was started, and instead to screw up the economy of the entire island and give grief to countless hard working honest people because it was more convenient.
Now you are here to scold those who would protect the innocent by exposing a blatant scammer.
The theme here seems to be that you have no respect for other people's money and perhaps some contempt.

Your best bet is to ask Rob To delete the links. I don't think you will get much help from the members who are posting here.
I can understand your brothers frustration, we are going through the same problem with our vehicle! It is much harder on him than us as he has his children, hope it works out!
