Glad I'm not he only one who needs re orienting Tom. After referring to the first page, I can tell you the subject is:
Good things and bad things about growing older in Puna.
And, sorry I didn't tell you if the lamb was fresh or frozen in Lovocore. The truth is, I couldn't remember. Just decided to wait in hopes somebody else knew. I do remember it was $14.99 #.
My excuse is, I got distracted by Kumquats. As soon as I saw them in the bin , I started thinking about eating them off my Dad's tree with him when he was alive and my brain froze . Freezer? What freezer?

Kenney, I get that way about cherries; my dad used to harvest, pit, and freeze cherries off his trees. He never ate them, so I'd "steal" some every time I visited. He gave me a jar of cherries in brandy once; I still had it 15 years after he died. I felt connected to him every time I saw it.

Adult Cherry Smoothie: blend frozen cherries, vodka, chocolate liqueur, half-and-half. Yum.

Aloha Lee M-S! Thanks for sharing the memory! I love Cherrys! (and adored my Dad.) I still find it difficult to give my Son all my Dad's momentous. I have several of his hand tools that I love to hold and feel close to him.

Thanks to your recollection I now have more pros about growing older.
1. I have so many wonderful memories to go over in my mind. Sometimes that's all the entertainment I require!
2. Eating and thinking about food is one of the last pleasures to go!

Your grown up smoothie sounds delicious! So does the brandy!

Now I have to figure out what to do with 60# of Jaboticaba my friend brought me yesterday. I make jelly, but that's a lot of fruit to use up. Thinking about making wine instead.

I guess this is good thing: no matter how old you are, you can still learn something new every day, and the older you are, the more you've learned. If you can remember the lessons of course...

Hey Tom I guess W. C. Fields wasn't popular in England? There is a Youtube clip of his movie "It's a Gift" that made kumquats famous in this country. Hilarious (and not PC at all).
