Just occurred to me. What's the betting there'll be a whole bunch of sign wavers at the roundabout come election time? It's just the perfect place to cause the maximum amount of distraction to drivers.

Yield = Stop? Only in Puna.

Figure it out people.

RE: How to use a roundabout - TomK - 05-10-2016

That's ironic. My experience is most drivers here think stop = yield.

Oh yeah, that was another thing about New Zealand - they have Yield instead of Stop signs at every unequal intersection (if it's the kind of intersection where a four-way stop would be appropriate, it has a roundabout). Another thing that makes traffic flow much better, since there's usually no need to come to a complete stop just to be able to see if anyone is coming.

I call this "Aloha has no rear view mirror." They're happy to help the person entering the road, and don't notice they're harming dozens of people behind them.

"Aloha has no rear view mirror."

Drivers neither look in the rear view mirror or read the small notice:
"Objects in mirror are more annoyed than they appear"

Oscar Wilde's Last Words: "Either this wallpaper goes, or I do."

Hotpe, thought you might like this article that shared some great NLV clips including the roundabout scene.

I have to admit that some of my anxiety or hesitation when approaching or driving upon roundabouts has come from watching that Chevy chase roundabout scene as a teenager.

Edited spelling error

"Objects in mirror are more annoyed than they appear"

Absolute classic. Thank you!

Let me ask you a couple of very simple questions. What is the biggest difference between the roundabout in the European Vacation roundabout scene and why wouldn't it apply to the roundabout in Pahoa? Driving on the left and driving the roundabout in a clockwise direction are not the answers. Exercise the brain cells, gypsy.

One is a dangerous traffic construct which will soon claim many lives.

The other is a movie.
