If you file a state tax return you don't have to fill out this form.I file a tax return even though I have no taxable income.I get a $60.00 refund because I am considered low income.
I'm not.

We spoke at length to the assessor who came out to look at our home when we filed for the home exemption. They measured the living space and drew up a basic floor plan accordingly. The assessor stated several times that they don't care if your home is permitted or not, and they won't turn you in. This was several years ago. Many of my neighbors have gotten a home exemption for a non-permitted home without any problems after we got ours.

As for property taxes that you think have been increased unreasonably...we argued that one with the county the first year we owned the property, and won. It took some work on our part to look up comparable properties and sale prices in the area, but it was worth it.

Sorry !!!

You have to file for the exemption but you only need o file a tax return to maintain the exemption !

'Once filed and granted, a home exemption does not have to be
re-filed annually as long as all requirements continue to be met.
